Hi Augie! YOu are welcome. You have a new fan in me.

You are so right about stopping paying attention. I actually unforwarded Chris' Tweets to my phone's SMS system today. If I am curious I'll go to his profile or do a search on him.

There are a few other cewebrities who do what he does. Shall I name them here? Heh . . .I am not as brave as you . . .But, OCD or not, it drives me crazy not knowing what they are referring to and not having the time nor motivation nor patience to click that thing where it shows you what they were responding to... and so on and so forth.

UGH! DM already! Another one that gets me is the overuse of platitudes and inspirational quotations, but I'll save that one for a post later this week on "Quality is Relative on Twitter, Too" TinyBuddha notwithstanding ;-p

Cecilia,

Nice post! And thanks for linking to my blog post.

I hope we're not alone. Doesn't it just seem sensible that if one is going to send a message to thousands of people it should at least make sense or be understood by most of them rather than just one person?

I got fair amount of flak for my post, but here's the interesting thing: I didn't intend my post as a review of etiquette or manners but as a simple remind of the basic mechanics of communication. If you aren't relevant to people, they stop paying attention! That's not good etiquette; that's just common sense.

Keep up the fight and continue to remind people about the way they earn or squander their Twitter attention.

Thanks,
Augie Ray
